The Bower moves through three Turnings rather than modules or phases. A turning is something that happens with you, not to you — the way leaves turn, the way the year turns, the way a story finally turns toward its ending. You don't push through a turning. You're carried forward by it.

Turning One: Entering (Aug 25 – Oct 9) 

You'll locate yourself: the honest state of your draft, the myth you've been living, and the myth that's actually yours. You'll claim your personal myth, meet with me 1:1, and define your own finish line—what "done" means for your project.

Then we seal the vessel.

Turning Two: Tending (Oct 10 – Nov 23) 

The writing itself. Fewer teachings, more holding. This is the least glamorous and most important stretch—the part of every myth where the heroine is in it, whether they like it or not. This time, you won't be in it alone.

Turning Three: Emerging (Nov 24 – Dec 31) 

Completion and harvest. The turning ends with Emerging—our closing ceremony at the winter solstice, where you are witnessed as the writer who did the thing. The program's final full moon falls on December 23rd, in Cancer: the sign of sanctuary and safety.

Nope! Trust me, plenty of people who've taken my classes have signed up without knowing a single thing about the cards or cosmos. As I say in the circle, my job is to gently introduce a variety of tools, and you get to decide if, when, and how you use them. You may decide that you love astrology and use the concepts to inform your creative process, or you may hate it and never use it. That is totally fine! There's no pressure here.

The Bower, in particular, is less astrology-heavy than other courses. We'll focus on symbology, archetypes, and myth-making—with a little astrology sprinkled in—for this program. 

We begin the week of August 25th, 2026, when summer takes its last breath and we welcome the focused, tidying energy of fall. 

From there, we'll participate in ten Zoom circles, weekly Bower Hours, one 1:1 session with me per writer, three moon-paced turnings (phases), and a closing ritual timed to the winter solstice and a full moon in the sign of home.

Unearthed is a greenhouse. 

It provides a tightly-sealed container that has been acclimated to a creative's needs in order for them to learn and grow. This includes scaffolded, weekly lessons, workbooks (over 300 pages worth!) and lectures by authors and industry experts. 

The Bower is a garden. 

It provides a living, growing space for work and processes that have already taken root—no lessons to keep up with, no curriculum to fall behind on. This includes intimate biweekly circles, co-writing sessions, an ongoing community hearth, and one 1:1 session to name your personal myth.

Unearthed teaches you how to grow.

The Bower holds you while you finish.

Absolutely! In fact, you already have a solid foundation from which to build new habits on. Plus, you might see some old friends in the circle.

For sure. The Bower isn't hierarchical—as long as you're a creative working on a project at any stage, you can hop right in with ease.
